The Nahmanides Institute for Jewish Studies is based in the Old Town of the city of Girona. Located within the  Bonastruc Ça Porta Centre and just above the Museum of Jewish History, it was created in 1997 with the objective of recovering, studying and disseminating the history of the city's Jewish community.

In 2011 part of the estate of Dr Josep Ribera-Florit was ceded to the Institute's Judaica library under the name: Fons Josep Ribera-Florit.
